At Landgage Heritage we understand that an archaeological desk-based assessment must do more than simply re-state information from the local historic environment record. We base our assessments on a wide range of data sources, and our staff have the competence and experience to interpret this information and articulate the potential for a site to contain buried remains clearly.
A well-researched desk-based assessment can serve to highlight potential archaeological risks early on and inform the need for and scope of future investigations. Desk-based assessments can also contextualise the results of later work and provide an important means to better understand the nature of any remains present within a site.
Project
Landgage Heritage provided archaeology and heritage reports for a solar farm, and negotiated a proportionate programme of field evaluation work.
